Two people were injured Friday at a dockside restaurant in Florida after part of the dock collapsed into the water.

The woman and her husband, who fell in the water after her, were at the restaurant to celebrate the 50th birthday of her friend, Karey Gore.
“We were just standing on the dock, and it broke, and three of us jumped out,” guest Keira Anderson told WSVN. “[A guest] slid in, then her husband slid in after her.”
Noticing the couple in distress, guest Mike Gore (whose relationship to the honoree, if any, was not immediately known) dove into the water to save them, according to the report.

Mike Gore helped the couple, guiding them to the other side of the pier, rather than returning to the broken section, where they would have climbed.
Virginia’s wife and Mike Gore were treated at the scene for minor injuries. The woman was later taken to Holy Cross Health with a cut on her back, while Gore had cuts and bruises on her body, WSVN reported.
The dock showed apparent signs of deterioration, Fort Lauderdale Fire Department Rescue Battalion Chief Stephen Gollan said, the Sun-Sentinel reported.
