Russian tourists expelled from a hotel in the Dominican Republic
Russian tourists from Vladimir were evicted from their hotel in the Dominican Republic four days before the end of the tour. TourDom.ru was informed about this by the director of Vladimir’s travel agency “Maverick Tour”, Anna Krasilnikova.
The cause of the incident, according to the Russian family, was a scandal in the hotel casino. The head of the family went to play cards and reacted emotionally: he began to resent and shout that the casino was cheating customers. As a result, the Russian was taken to the police, and then released only on a written agreement that he leaves the room and leaves the hotel with his family.
“He, along with his pregnant wife and child, were forced to check into the first hotel they encountered at his own expense,” the source said.
The tour operator from whom the Russians purchased the tour confirmed the information about the deportation. “At the moment, we are investigating the circumstances of the incident and will comment on the situation in the near future,” the press service said.
Previously, tourism industry experts named Russian travelers as the optimal cost of tours to the Dominican Republic in February. It is worth noting that according to the results of 11 months of 2021 (from January to November), the country received 128.6 thousand domestic tourists. This represents 24.8% of all travelers who arrived in the Dominican Republic during this period, that is, one in four foreigners in the country came from Russia.
