“According to the complaint, the incident occurred when the girl’s mother went out to fetch needed items from a nearby market in Arambol, leaving her daughter in the swimming pool,” he said.
Vikram Naik said the accused fled after the incident.
“But within 24 hours of receiving the complaint, the accused was arrested after being found in Gadag,” he said.
Ravi Lamani has been charged under Section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Section 8 of the Goa Children Act and sections of the Protection of Children from Offenses Act (POCSO), Mr. Naik said.
