Russia uses Japanese restaurant for fake Ukraine narrative, NSDC says

In an article on the Telegram messaging service, the Center for Combating Disinformation of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council said that several Russian media outlets on August 10 published images of what was supposed to be a billboard. billboard advertising a Japanese restaurant.

In the ad image, a Japanese sushi chef covers a Ukrainian woman’s mouth, saying, “Let’s change the subject, let’s talk about delicious sushi.”

The Center for Combating Disinformation, together with the Ukrainian Embassy in Japan, turned to the management of the Sushinomidori company for an explanation regarding the provocative billboard.
The restaurant chain in turn published an official rebuttal of the false advertisement on its website.
The company said it does not support discrimination against any country or nationality, and the shared image had nothing to do with it.
