Patrick Marleau’s son was almost kidnapped at the hotel
The family of NHL legend Patrick Marleau almost had a vacation nightmare.
While staying at a hotel on Wednesday night, Patrick and his wife Christina’s son Brody reportedly returned to the pool to grab his sunglasses he had left behind when a couple approached of the 12-year-old.
Christina took to Twitter to tell the whole story.
According to Christina, the couple’s wife started following Brody, asking him questions and trying to direct him to his partner, when another family near the hotel noticed her. The Headlam family of Louisiana intervened before anything could happen. The security of the hotel and the local authorities were notified on the spot.
The exact location of the hotel was not disclosed.
Christina had a strong message for the tempted kidnappers after thanking Brody’s rescuers.
“Headlam family, thank you”, she noted on Twitter. “You are angels on Earth. And for the scum of the earth who thinks they can pray for the children… there is a special place in hell for you. And there are good people who will stop you.
Fortunately, everyone seemed to be safe after the vacation trip. Christina then tweeted that the suspected offenders were in custody and that an update should be provided after authorities reviewed hotel security footage.
Brody, 12, is the second of Christina and Patrick’s four children.
Marleau played 1,779 games in the NHL, the most players in the league’s 104-year history. During that time, he has scored 566 goals and 1197 points, the overwhelming majority of those with the San Jose Sharks.
