MGM to open a hotel in Shanghai’s Bund

An MGM-branded hotel will open in Shanghai’s West Bund, modeled after the group’s properties in Macau, the hotel group has announced.
Diaoyutai MGM Hospitality – a joint venture between Diaoyutai State Guesthouse and MGM Resorts International – announced today (Tuesday) that it has signed a hotel management agreement with Shanghai West Bund Development (Group) Co., Ltd. to open an MGM hotel in the famous Shanghai district.
The future MGM Shanghai West Bund will feature 161 rooms and 58 suites, an Italian restaurant, a fine-dining Chinese restaurant with a range of historic Diaoyutai cuisines, and a rooftop bar with live music.
The hotel’s spa will also aim to be one of the largest in Shanghai and will be inspired by the Tria Spa concept of MGM Cotai and MGM Macau, which received five stars in Forbes Travel Guide 2022.

Diaoyutai MGM Hospitality currently operates five hotels and three branded residences under different brands of Diaoyutai, MGM, Bellagio by MGM, Mhub by MGM and Diaoyutai MGM Residences in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Hangzhou, Nanjing, Sanya and Haikou.
It also plans to open more hotels in Qingdao, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Shanghai, Wuhan and other mainland cities.
