Is this DIFC hotspot the most glamorous new restaurant in Dubai?
Hailing from Paris, Rasputin promises to bring decadent French glamor to Gate Village…
In Paris, Rasputin is one of the hottest tickets in town. Notoriously difficult to get to, Rasputin is as elusive as it is alluring, so we’re keen to grab a reservation as it opens in Dubai on Friday 30 September.
Replacing Caramel in the Gate District Precinct Building 3, Raspoutine Dubai is a sensory treat. Passing through the large wooden doors feels like entering a sensual secret club. The color palette is almost exclusively comprised of various shades of crimson and scarlet in crushed velvet and soft satin, interwoven with touches of opulent gold. Bold red hues are complemented by antique chandeliers, stained glass, old paintings, carved wood and embroidered fabrics that lend character and history to Dubai’s decidedly futuristic financial hub.
While the original in Paris has a 50-year history and exclusively operates a nightclub, in Dubai the party starts with a decadent dinner. The festive restaurant follows the format of the sister restaurant in Miami, with an indulgent menu paired with tempting drinks and deep house sets.
On the menu, expect classic Parisian dishes with Russian accents served until 11:30 p.m. Once the clock strikes midnight, the lights are dimmed and Rasputin transforms from a restaurant into a club, so alongside a party vibe at a dinner party, it then becomes a go-to sport for revelry late night too. Reminiscent of the original Parisian flagship, expect deep house tunes until the early hours.
Rasputin Dubai, Gate Precinct Building 3, DIFC, 8 p.m. to 3 a.m., Tuesday to Saturday. Tel: (0)4 272 5373, raspoutine.com/dubai
