Hyatt expands international presence – Hotel Business
Hyatt Hotels has added Hyatt Place brand property in Russia, while adding a new hotel in China and planning to welcome the Hyatt House brand to Johannesburg.
Hyatt Place Yekaterinburg
Hyatt Place Ekaterinburg, the second Hyatt-branded property in the Russian city, has officially opened. The hotel was developed by LLC Hotel Development Company.
The city of Yekaterinburg is one of the main gateways between Europe and Asia and an important stopover along the Trans-Siberian Railway. Being in Russia’s fourth largest city, the opening of Hyatt Place Yekaterinburg marks an important milestone in Hyatt’s growth strategy.

Hyatt Regency Guangzhou Zengcheng
The 408-room Hyatt Regency Guangzhou Zengcheng in China has opened.
Zengcheng has recently become an important industrial and commercial center in Guangzhou. The city is also part of the Southern China Transit Oriented Development (TOD), which integrates three national high-speed railways, two twin trains and four subway lines, connecting the main cities of Guangzhou, Dongguan, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Besides its modern evolution, Zengcheng, traditionally known as the birthplace of lychee, has historical significance as a center of Lingnan culture and is a place of natural beauty given its proximity to the scenic area of Nanxiangshan Forest Park.
The hotel’s 408 guest rooms, including 21 suites, showcase an infusion of traditional Lingnan culture with colorful artwork that represents details of local architecture and nature. All rooms are equipped with smart technology, including a 65-inch LED TV with international satellite channels and JBL bluetooth stereo speakers.
The hotel offers 31,528 square feet (2,929 square meters) of rooms for meetings, events and weddings. The 9,149 sq.ft. The Regency Ballroom features floor-to-ceiling windows, natural light and a foyer suitable for large exhibitions. There are also eight multi-function rooms and one 4,855 square foot room. outdoor event garden.
Hyatt House Johannesburg Sandton
A subsidiary of Hyatt has entered into a management agreement with a subsidiary of Millat Properties for Hyatt House Johannesburg Sandton. The property’s planned opening will mark the introduction to the continent of the Hyatt Select Services and Extended Stay brand and the third Hyatt brand hotel in South Africa.
The hotel, scheduled to open in October, will be located in the Sandton region, where business and leisure tourism intermingle in the economic hub of Africa. The hotel will have 43 studio rooms and 19 apartment-style suites, all with fully equipped kitchens and separate living rooms.
Additional amenities will include a unique concept for an alternative treehouse dining experience; H Market offering take-out snacks and drinks; a fitness center; and an outdoor swimming pool.
