An artificial gravity station will be the first of two commercial stations planned in orbit.
The American company Orbital Assembly has announced plans to build a space station in Earth orbit by 2025 to conduct scientific research and a hotel for tourists. Gizmodo reports it.
According to the design, 28 space tourists who will live in five modules with a diameter of 61 meters, placed around a ring which, by its rotation, will create artificial gravity.
The Pioneer station will be the first of two planned commercial stations in orbit. The second will be able to accommodate 400 space tourists.
“Our station & #8212; it is a safe and reliable modular design that will start generating revenue sooner than our competitor’s NASA-contracted stations,” said Orbital Assembly Executive Director Rhonda Stevenson.
These stations should be built by 2030 and will replace the ISS, which will be decommissioned in 2030. As you know, they plan to flood it in the waters of the Pacific Ocean.
