Kempinski Hotels has appointed Andras Biro as the new Managing Director of the award-winning five-star luxury hotel The Capitol Kempinski Hotel Singapore, and, from now on, he will oversee the growth of the iconic Lion City property. Located in the heart of the civic and business district, the hotel, with Andras Biro on board, will further strengthen Kempinski’s presence in the country’s dynamic changing hotel landscape.

Andras Biro, born and raised in Hungary, joined the luxury hotel in Singapore from his last post in Russia, where he was General Manager of Kempinski Grand Hotel Gelendzhik, a five-star luxury resort and vacation resort on the Black Sea. . From 2016 to 2018, he worked as a hotel manager at the 686-room Grand Kempinski Hotel Shanghai, China, with a previous position as Acting General Manager and Executive Deputy Manager at Kempinski Hotel Chongqing. Previous positions in his career included Executive Assistant Director positions at Dusit International and Front Office Manager positions at Constance Hotels & Resorts, both in the Maldives, as well as positions at Radisson Blu in Hungary and the United Arab Emirates.

The 43-year-old graduated from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and holds an MBA in International Hotel Management from IMI International Management Institute Switzerland. He is fluent in English, German and Russian in addition to his native Hungarian language.
