1 killed, 3 wounded in a shooting at the Aurora hotel
AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) – Two men are in police custody after shooting in a hotel room in Aurora, killing one man and injuring three others.
The incident stems from a party at the Hyatt House, 12230 E. Colfax Ave. A party was taking place in a hotel room. When the suspects showed up, they were kicked out after an altercation.
The suspects shot through the hotel room door and punched the four victims.
Police responded to the shooting just before 2 a.m. An 18-year-old man was taken to a local hospital where he has since been pronounced dead. A 17-year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious injuries, is currently in critical condition, but is expected to survive. A 22-year-old man and a 23-year-old man were also taken to hospital; both are currently in stable condition.
Investigators told FOX31 there was a party where a brawl broke out and the shooting began.
Sixteen-year-old Benjamin was at the party.
“They tried to throw the two guys who had the gun and they kicked [them] outside and they locked the door, and they basically pulled the door, ”Benjamin said.
We were told about 15 people were at a birthday party which was held on the sixth floor.
FOX31 spoke to hotel guests who left the hotel in the middle of the night. They said they heard screaming and screaming.
We heard people running in a hallway. Blood was seen in the hallway near the elevators. Another person said they heard six gunshots.
Aurora investigators said two people were asked to leave the party after unrest. These two men then started shooting on the door.

” I was a bit scared. I went about my own business trying to get to the bathroom safely and after that I would wait for the cops, ”Benjamin said.
The two suspected shooters were quickly arrested by hotel security and Aurora police.
